I'm getting ready to go to Baltimore to a new
Fall Market next
week, although in August isn't it really late Summer?! So
there are new things afoot, including the new Fall classes.

Ready for a challenge? This class for the
advanced stitcher will be a masterpiece when complete, measuring 8-3/4"
x 24" on 40 count. Circular buttonholes, satin stitch and spider
webs are a few of the stitches used to create a textured design in this
cutwork piece giving it a very delicate look. Don't feel limited
to stitching this in white on white, either! Barb has already
started this piece, using grey on grey. The picture was taken
in the sun, which is why it looks blue! She couldn't wait to
start until class time, and is making great progress! The picture
is just one band of many in this great design.

With the use of over-dyed threads from the
present, the designer has incorporated speciality stitches such as
blackwork and hardanger to create a piece in the fashion of a girl's
sampler from the past. A fun way to try something new!

This piece was designed as a tone on tone piece
with an assorted number of stitches to emphasize texture. It is a
gem for sure, and very elegant. Several people have already been
having fun changing the colors. I went wild a couple of years ago
when we offered this class and did my piece in orange!

Each letter of the alphabet is a lovely block
finished using a variety of speciality stitches. Don't want to
stitch the entire piece? Combine letters to spell a last name,
"welcome" or just about anything you want. This is also an easy
design to have fun changing fiber and fabric colors. The
possibilities are endless!
